Michael DelCharco is a coastal and water resources engineer with 25 years of experience in Florida. His first job was scuba diving and cleaning the bottoms of the glass bottom boats in Silver Springs. After graduate school he joined the USGS in Tampa and spent many days on the water and in streams measuring flow and flood flow conditions. For the last 17 years he has led coastal and water resources projects at Taylor Engineering, focusing on coastal storm surge modeling and mapping, wetland restorations dam breach modeling and mapping, and many other interesting projects. His personal mission these days includes getting high school and college students excited about coastal engineering!
