Christopher Mason is the FEMA Floodplain Coordinator for Collier County, FL. He has worked in field of floodplain management and land development services for the last 20 years. Mr. Mason began his Career in Austin, TX with CoreLogic Inc. providing clients with a wide range of National Flood Insurance Program data and information to help ensure lender’s compliance with federal flood regulations at origination, as well as throughout the life of the loan.

Chris left CoreLogic in 2014 to pursue a new opportunity as a Planner and CRS Coordinator the for Nassau County, FL Department of Planning & Economic Opportunity.  In his time at Nassau County, Chris focused on but was not limited to Development Review, GIS, Conditional Use & Variance reporting, and Nassau County’s entrance into the NFIP Community Rating System. Chris accepted the opportunity to become the FEMA Floodplain Coordinator of Collier County in August of 2017.

Mr. Mason completed his undergraduate education in Geographical Sciences at Florida State University in 1996. Chris also achieved a graduate certificate in GIS from the University of Denver in 2016. Chris has been a Certified Floodplain Manager since 2004.

Chris is currently managing Collier County’s CRS verification visit scheduled for May of 2018 while also working on mitigation projects in the wake of Hurricane Irma. Mr. Mason currently resides in Naples, FL.
